ok, i'll start.

its my understanding of the chemistry of water wetter is that it breaks the 
surface tension between the water and the cooling passages of the radiator 
allowing for more efficient cooling because of better heat transfer.

i also have heard several times that antifreeze hinders the cooling abilities 
of the car, its there for its anti-freezing abilities and it does not aid in 
the cooling process.
