I have been surprised more than once by wheel tire combos that I expected to
be light, the heaviest is always MickieBenZ(AMG Wheels) close second
BumMerW(just fancy aftermarket wheels) and VW-Audi, always the lighter ones,
very occasionally cracked

And the weight is (drum roll please...):

18 pounds for the 15x6 Ronal R8.

Just for the comparo, I weighted a VW 15x6 steel wheel (the 4 bolt wheel
from a Passat-Corrado), and it stopped the balance at 19 lbs...

Aren't alloy wheels supposed to be weight saving devices? :-)

PS: Sometimes I am not proud of myself. Instead of bringing down the 4 lbs
balance in the basement, I brought the 2 wheels (nearly 40 lbs, remember)
way up in the bathroom, on the second story... Dumb me.

I am in the process of comparing the unsprung weights of a standard UrQ

caliper and OEM 15x6" Ronal wheel versus a G-60 conversion with Fuchs 15x7"
wheel. Am able to weigh everything except the standard 15x6" wheel as I do
not want to remove the new tyre mounted on it! Does anyone know the weight
of a standard wheel or have access to a bare wheel they can weigh for me
please?
