[urq] Aluminum Bushings

Hello All:

To add to the 'subframe' bushing saga...

My 4000q has had aluminum subframe bushings for 9 or 10 years.
And this is in my 'winter' 4000q.
While the outside of them is a bit crusty, the inner parts of the (interior
of the subframe) look as new as the day they were made. A bit of grease on
installation doesn't hurt. Compared to my 4000q that doesn't have the
aluminum bushings, *I* can't tell any difference. And that include many
hard-on-the-car winter road rallies.

So, as +, they are easier to install, and they don't really corrode to any
appreciable extent.
And , as Louis Allen points out, they (in theory) can act as a sacrificial
anode. So that's another plus! Better for them to corrode than the
subframe, wouldn't one think? :-)
