All I heard is that someone sends them to CA to be repaired. Other buzz perhaps about a brass gear
'group buy' took place in the past.

The time would partly depend on some variables, such as how good one is with handling delicate intrumentation.

The time to remove the cluster from the car and re-install once fixed. Can range from 15 min for one who has done the job many times and has exactly the tools required on hand vs. hours for someone who has not done it before or does not have the tools and other factors.

The time to rmove the speedo unit from the cluster - similar to above.

The time to replace the gear. Depends on if just the plastic gear is broken, or the metal drive gear is also slipping. Depends on how many times one needs to redo the job because they cant get the least significant digit gear to line up properly. This part of the job can take as little as 15 minutes to ?? Estimate an hour if you are pretty good at repairing little things.

Total time for job, not less than 45 min. as much as 3 hours possibly more if things don't go right.

Ben
