[urq] Cast steel control arm question

I have a set of the RR A-arms and Ball Joints.
The only difference between the RR A-arms and the 80/90/CQ A-arms is the RR
arms come with the sway bar bushings.
They are NOT alloy as speculated on this list a few years ago.
The RR ball joints cost almost as much as the A-arms. ~$100 each. (2/04,
at the dealer in Traunreut, Germany)
If anyone wants to know the exact price, I can find the receipt.
I don't know why the 80/90/CQ are $300. Do they come with the 80/90/CQ ball
joints attached?

I should note that I do not have these installed yet. My car is completely
apart right now.

Dennis,
The cast A arms are not a bolt on. To install them on an ur q, you need the
RR ur q ball joints from Europe.
These are the ONLY ball joints that will allow them to fit on an ur q strut.
The 80/90/CQ ball joints are too big.
You also have to find the proper sway bar bushings to fit the end links.
They don't seem to be any lighter than the stamped A arms.
The price for new ones is ~$300 (wholesale) and about $50-$75 used.

Are they an upgrade? Good question.

Steve

How heavy are the cast parts, and are the considered an upgrade? Are these
a
bolt on, or do you need to switch lower ball joints etc. Forgive my
ignorance and all the questions, but I had not heard of these before.
I have always been a fan of cast as opposed to stamped steel. You never
know
if stamped part is bent, tweaked, or straight.
