There are three specialized tools involved in strut removal on the urq. Well
4 if you count the spring compressor. Ok 5 if you count the tie rod end
popper.... Ok let's just stick to the VAG specific ones. :-)
3078 $43.70 =22MM wrench with cutout for an allen key. You can get away with
using an offset box end wrench for this one.
VW524 $29.20 = tool to remove slotted nut from strut bearing. (only do this
with coilsprings properly and safely compressed with a coil spring tool.)
You really need this tool. Is this the castle nut tool you are looking for?
2069 $42.35= tool for the retaining cap on the strut housing. Some people
just use a pipe wrench. I used to do that, but the 2069 with an impact
wrench is the way to go.
