Phil and Rich,
Chime in here...
You guys drive more aggressively with tuned cars on the track,
What are your temps? My stock UrQ (K24 with Scott Mockery's chip work)
overheated with a stock radiator on a track day at PIR in late September
in 70 degree days. Runs on the street at 180 all the time, on 100 degree
days I'm at 200 without hitting it hard, I can get to 220 in a hard
driving experience. Turn on the A/C in stop and go traffic and it climbs
so fast the fan can't really keep up with it. I guess that's a great
reason to dump the A/C. Freeway driving at speed is pretty much the only
time I get to use A/C.
My major concern is the oil pan and radiator clearance and increased
capacity, and cause it already is hot with stock on the track!
Jack

you know, I hate to be the voice of reason here... (?) :)
when I did my rs2 conversion, I took out the aux rad of the UrQ and just
used a stock 4000Q rad. Ive never had any kind of overheating problems
whatsoever in it, and I wasnt exactly gentle with it, even in the 100+
degree summer months. I havent tracked it yet, but Im not thinking it
will be an issue. With the proper shrouding and ducking in place I would
think it should be fine.
Whats the drive to do the upgrade? has someone else had overheating
problems with ther rs2 conversions that I should know about?

Guys, this is a smoking deal at that price...
I sourced a "naked" double core all aluminum Ron Davis Radiator through
Javad Shadzi, because I needed to delete the secondary radiator and was
put off by the potential $800 price of the Dialynx one. The Ron Davis
radiator came with no mounting flanges and took CONSIDERABLE work to
make it fit into my CQ.
OTOH the Dialynx radiator maintains ALL the stock mounting locations -
your fan shroud will bolt right on, AC condensor, Chassis mounts, etc.
One less headache to think about.
I believe that 2bennet sells the same radiator and I have seen in Matt
Rookes eS2 they built. Mike Sylvester is also using one in his 83 URQ

Another target may be those folks who've done turbo conversions on 4kq's
and CGT's. Is there a 4kq turbo conversion list? Has anybody subbed
the Master Q List?
I have an old used stock urq rad, I think, sitting in my garage from
which measurements can be taken. I'll try to remember to check tonight.
I assume we want all mounting points and of course nipples (of course we
want nipples! sorry.) for all water lines. We should be able to
eliminate those nipples used for the aux rad, right. (?)

So lets start the investigation? Sounds like the previous group buy from
Dialynx was around $350-400, Jeffery Lewis got a very nice one from
"...I bought it from a place called www.streetrodstuff.com. They are
actually made by PRC radiators I think. It is about 400 with shipping."
I love the images of the Dialynx I have seen from folks and wouldn't
have any problems one of theirs
Yesterday I had "interest" from 4, today that "interest" has gone to 6
with Steve B. and Sean ______?
Very good comment from Steve Eiche "..The ur q radiator will also fit
the B3 and B4 chassis cars, so the guys doing S2 or RS2 conversions may
also be interested." copied them.
I myself have a FWD coupe rad in my 83-UrQ right now works great in a
stock car. Should be close on fitting all 4000s. I'm going to be a
little biased towards making sure the rad doesn't hit the AAN oil pan on
my conversion and secondary to fit on other cars. Nobody seems able to
confirm the Dialynx fit of AAN in an UrQ.
Sounds like the target price would want to be $400, or less?
3" sounds like a standard thickness everyone wants?
Let's start with stock measurements and go to the new thickness?
Anyone have anything out of their car we can get the actual measurements
from?
Someone emailed with an image I couldn't for some reason save but was
great looking.
Let's get quotes on 10 and 25, see what we end up with?
Jim Furdyn, Do your stuff! I am not a Dialynx US rep. But I am in an
exclusive partnership with Aelred Smith, formerly of Dialynx. Aelred can
get me anything I need to import into the US.
I'll contact the guy I know here in Portland, and we'll get this thing
rolling, with any luck as having watched previous GPs we should have
radiators ready to order by this winter or next spring? Anyone else have
any relationships with anyone they want to explore?
