Ed,

How do you know your ignition is cutting out?  A bad switch will "allow" the
engine to stall - it is the signal that enables the Idle Stabilization
function.  If the engine stalls, you will of course see the tach dropout
too.

Try to check the simple stuff first - like the idle switch, before you start
tearing into fuel distributor etc.
