... since I'm here, I ought to add my tuppence ... remember that the 
ignition switch cuts some loads in the start position, you will lose this 
with your solution ... otherwise I think its pretty cool.  It will certainly 
make sure that the supply voltage to the F/TCU will not be noisy!  ;-)
