Hmm, ever owned a 100/200 or V8Q? plenty of solder on the instrument clusters. Yet, I (and others) continue to fight false alarms, dying gauges, intermittent lights, etc.
 
There are very few electronics that last reliably past 15 or 20 years. Part of owning an older car.
