Mike, Check the hot/cold air lever on the dash. Slide it back and forth. If
it moves really easy (loose), pull the three levers off, full the fan knob
off, and take the plate off. You'll need a flashlight, but look in the open
space to the left and down. There is a micro switch that is activated when you
slide the lever to the left (cold air and/or AC). This micro switch turns the
rad fan on to high speed. The problem I had was the arm behind the panel that
was pressing on the switch popped of the lever and stayed on the switch. I
thought something was weird when I had heat and AC at the same time. Also the
original ceramic 20amp fuse (location 15)looked kinda overheated so I put one
of the newer glass 20amp fuses in it's place but they kept blowing so I ended
up using the 20 year old fuse. The High speed fan draws allot of amps
through the wiring and fuse box, so I ran a wire direct from the battery and pulled
the wire for that fuse (15) out of the fuse box and it now has its own
separate fuse. I can reach under the dash and touch the fuse, and still notice
that it gets very warm when I use the AC. I even attached a heat sink to the AC
relay ( the center relay up above the glove box) to try and keep things cool.
