[urq] Intake Hoses

Hey Ingo,
Give him the better cheap fix....The Goodyear hose that fits a dodge
2500 pickup lower radiator hose. $19 from Autozone. Take out the
coiled spring insert, and cut about 4 inches off of the turbo end.
Perfect fit, cheap, and readily available. The Tommy tape costs about
$12 by comparison, and does work for awhile to get you there, but I find
an extra hose at $20 a far better thing to keep above the fuel tank, in
my "Spares area." Now I just wish I had had a spare alt-belt on Sunday
night......
Ingo, what is the number on that hose? 62759?

Aw, Sh!!!t
Eric,
You likely missed the "things to bring with you on road trips" (or
something
like that) from last year. I can't say wrt samco hoses et al, but for
on-the road repair, I highly recommend Tommy Tape -- a self-vulcanizing
tape
that you wrap numerous times around the hose and onto itself. Worked
for me
last year at the 20 year quattro club celebration at BIR in Minnesota --
got
me back to Michigan at up to 10 lbs boost (didn't try higher) - 12 hr
trip
through the Upper Peninsula (don't want to break down there). Also sold
under WRAP FIX brand. Of ten in electrical tape section at hardware
store.
Found mine at ACE hardware. Made by Duck (Henkel Consumer Products).
HTH
