[urq] Turbo/wastegate whistle: how and why?

Sounds like you have a serious vacuum leak. It could come from any number
of places. Best thing to do is pressurize the intake system and you will
likely find it easily. For a visual - I'd first check:

1. turbo to IC hose
2. IC to IM hose
3. 1.5 inch (apprx length) 90 degree bend hose at back of head to valve
cover breather

But seriously - just pressurize it and the leak will manifest itself.

Subject: [urq] Turbo/wastegate whistle: how and why?

Where exactly does the loud whistling noise under boost come from? i.e. how
is it technically possible for the turbo making such noise?

Could a shot WG diaphragm causing this whistle? I know I only have 0,45 bar
/ 150 BHP and the whistling noise is getting louder each month...

Also, could a wrong or wrong adjusted WG spring cause the turbo to whistle?

Any thoughts?

Thanks
