[urq] 84 rear deck (trunk) lid....

Could not agree more John...

I know of one '83 with "quattro" script rear window... it has many different
features which are very un '83...
Most likely none of them original.

Also, at the first UPG event someone had a car with a removable rad (grill)
support like the '87 and up MB and RR...
If you want to replace the rad (or grill) support, this is what you get from
the dealer.. a superseded part..
So if the car has ever had that part professionally replaced (for whatever
reason) it would be replaced a superseded part..

It's harder and harder to find out what is and what is not correct for our
cars...
Especially since most of us are not the original owners and don't usually
know car's complete history.

Usually our perception of originality has to do with the condition of the
car... a mint example is more likely to be assumed to be original.
Just be careful of that.

The key here is IF the rear window is original. The rear window on our
former urq (a 1982) shattered. We had it replaced with the quattro script
one. Took a couple of weeks to get it from Germany, but since the
insurance company was paying for it, I wanted the updated part!
