Yeah, the FA authors get old-fashioned hacker (it used to mean lousy 
programmer)
points for misuse of a relational operator.
-  the >> ahead of a VIN means "up to" not "greater than"
-  >> after a VIN means "and later" ( or "after" ?? )
so build exceptions notwithstanding you need the B.
