Glad Michael got home ok, his car just missed all the Audi camaraderie
from Carlisle.

Too be more specific about the Saab story! These guys were nuts, and
they actually thought there cars were the best prepared! More so than
James Bufkins' Rally car that would spin 4 wheels at 4500 rpm in 4th on
perfectly
dry and straight pavement...I don't think they have invented a Saab to
do that since Erik Carlson spun its front wheels in snow with his 3 cyl,
2 cycle car in deep snow! These folks had brandy new cars they thought
were the coolest. What about the Audi urS4 with a dyno sheet showing
over 500 wheel hp! Hey saab story, what can you do? Not to mention the
other beautiful WX engined cars that were really in great condition, and
the other tricked Audi AAN 20V urq with more than 400 wheel hp and
stainless steel tubing for turbo and exhaust that would put the Mormon
Temple organ to shame, not to mention the tabernacle!

Audiphiles unite. Our Vintage cars are classics and despite their age,
are still represent one of the timeless ultimate performance cars
available. Did you see that '87 4000Q that was absolutely showroom
perfect? CGT's were fabulous also.

This was a great event, and hopefully more people will make it next
year, and perhaps get together for the Cumberland event this August and
the UPG later on.

NSU and RO 80's were amazing. But I must confess, that svelte Jaguar
3.4 sedan was just intoxicating with the other original "sports cars"
with the strange accents...that you used to drive and wave at others in
friendship
many, many years ago.

What a great collection of machinery and madness, next year I will be
there
for sure! Perhaps we will see a Sport Quattro there and a fully tricked
out
BMW 2002 Alpina?

Maybe we have started something we cannot finish?
