Martin et al,
To my knowledge the Hawk Blue pad is a track only pad. The progression
goes something like HPS, HP+, Blue, Black, HT9, HT10. The HP+ is a good
autox pad and weekend track event pad if you've got decent cooling to the
brakes, it gets a little noisy, though, when run on the street for a
while. I have also run the blue on the track, good track pad, from the
little track experience I have, but still faded late into sessions going
into 5 at Road America.
The proper street hawk pad should be HPS, which I don't have any
experience with.
It may serve you well, Andrew, to call Monte at Livermore Performance,
I've gotten track pads from him before, www.livermoreperformance.com.
The last couple of sets of pads I've gotten, though, have been through
Carbotech for the UFO's on my 200q20v. Send them your worn out
pads/backing plates, and they add any material from their selection.
They've been really helpful in choosing a track pad compound. They should
also be good in selecting a street pad. They carry other brands than just
their line of pads as well.
Good luck, and sorry for being so wordy,
Nathan Engelbert

Martin, will you be at the USGP again this year? Email me off list and we
can discuss a place to meet up if you like. I'll be parked at the Audi
corral again. Everyone should really get in on that who is going to the
race. www.indyaudi.com for details.
