Eric,

That is because on the Euro and ROW cars those_are_turn signals...
Only the NA cars used them as marker/parking lights.
It's an easy mod to do and makes it a lot easier to change lanes when
someone actually can see your intention from the side.. ;)

Fiche says 811 953 059 (same for both sides).  Interesting that it calls
them turn signals when they're just marker lights here.  Even more
interesting is that the same part was used on the mother of all
quattros, the Iltis!  Oh yeah, the early 5K, 4K, and CGT, too.

This reminds me that I've been meaning to do the trick of removing the
ground and running a + turn signal wire in its place to make them
function as both markers and signals.
