I blame most of what's happening to F1 on Ecclestone. I loved F1 when
I was younger, but anymore the only thing it's got over NASCAR is that
they turn both directions. FIA seems confused as to why the
popularity of their sport is waning, but it's not a big mystery to me:
They dont' give a rat's ass about the fans and the quality of the
racing.
I do have to agree with Rich on the saftey thing though, I'd rather
see no race than a dead driver. I remember when Ayrton Senna died, it
was tragic. I think a lot of the current drivers are whiny
primadonnas, but I have no desire to see blood on the track.
Really though, it seems like the FIA should specify a "worst case
scenario" tire that really is safe on any track, if not competetive.
For all the money that was spent putting that race on, you think they
could come up with some sort of contingency plan.
