[urq] Injector Cooling Shroud

Having just had the same problem....

Just no way that air hose is going to make the corner, and not be destroyed!

1) Get a longer piece of air hoses, and route it to the shroud via some 
larger radius 'S' bends.

2) If the hose won't bend sharp enough, consider taking the outlet off the
top of the fan, and repositioning it 180 degrees. (pointing to the back of
the car). Then connect to the shroud with a really long piece of hose...

You may also consider adding to the shroud the metal injector holder that the
NA motors used. Much better to hold in injectors than a bit of plastic, and
gives you something to fasten the plastic shroud to.
(As Michael points out, it's probably broken anyway!)

I've seen a picture of that done somewhere recently, but can't remember who
sent it to me..

Not elegant, but functional!

Hi Guys,

My urq came with the injector cooling shroud (that plastic piece that
sits atop the valve cover and distributes cooling air to the injectors)
from a type 44.  This piece is longer than the urq version, and
therefore restricts air flow due to the incorrect fit of the cooling
hose from the injector cooling fan.  Anyone have a proper urq shroud
that they'd be willing to part with, maybe leftover from an efi or 20v
conversion?  Likewise, anyone know of any suppliers that might have one?
Audi claims to still have them available, but no one can seem to locate
one...
