[urq] Power steering loss Update

Yes, all that stuff inside has been replaced recently, including a new bomb and new ATF. There is and has been a lot of talk about whether to use ATF (red) or Mineral (green) in the past, because the PN used for ATF in the old ETKA is the same as the PN of the Mineral in the new ETKA because the green stuff can be used in ATF systems, but NOT viceversa. If you look in ETKA for the parts inside the container, you will notice different screen mesh, paper filter and wood type filter, which do not match the old parts (just one wood type filter and simple flat mesh). It happens that I fitted all that new Mineral filter stuff according to the new ETKA but still use ATF. Could it be the ATF is dissolving this new kind of filters, just like ATF will dissolve the sealings in Mineral based steering racks and pumps?

Another thing is I don't have any MIN-MAX marks inside the container. Could you tell me how much mm from the top these markings are and how much the level would rise if the bomb is emptied (to prevent overflow)? My current level with a charged bomb is a half full container and perhaps this is just to low.

Thanks

>Drain the reservoir, inspect the round wood type ring in the bottom, if it is not perfect, replace it immediately, the initial hard brake pedal is caused by a bad bomb, aka brake accumulator, the loss of PS assist is prolly caused by dirty fluid, do not drive the car until you know the condition of the filters or you could end up needing a pump, a rack and the valve body the bomb screws into. saw that happen, it filled the driver side of the interior floor with ATF, feel free to contact me for P#'s or advice or sources for parts, yeah the BMW stuff is cheaper and the same stuff.
