[urq] Wiper Switch or Relay Problem

... when I read the first part of the post I was starting to think the
problem was the delay wiper relay ... but if you've got wipers that stop
somewhere in mid-sweep it says the park switch in the wiper assembly
itself needs to be looked at.  Most of the time the problem can be fixed
by cleaning up the contacts.  Basically, the way the wipers work is that
there is a switch inside the assembly that forces the wiper motor to
complete the cycle after the motor passes a certain rotation.  So the
column switch/delay relay only needs to stay on long enough to get the
wipers started and then the wiper assembly itself makes sure that the
cycle completes.  I'd recommend you start by cleaning this up ... then
see how things are working.  It certainly sounds as though the delay
relay is malfunctioning too.  You may want to do some voltage
measurements around the circuitry ... sometimes when you've got multiple
issues in a particular area it may be a wiring or connector problem that
is causing all symptoms.  

If you do find you need a new delay relay I'd recommend that you track
down one of the programmable delay parts ... they plug right in for the
factory part and allow you to set the delay interval ...
