Right, but Jim forgot to mention that the WR is 200hp, without an O2 sensor and the mixture frequency valve. Pure CIS non lambda.

Speeking of WR... I rode in one last saturday, here in France.

A lister from France contacted me last week to meet him and his car, a genuine 1981 WR urQ (85_B_900373, built in 12-81). Nice solid car, still stock, but with high mileage. It's an early version, meaning it has the cable diff locks: this setup is very effective, the locks engage very fast, much faster than any vaccum-accuated I tried. The twin little levers are on each side of the handbrake lever.
The car is silver with the Zebra interior, electric windows but no AC or sunroof or heated seats or cruise control.
Speed wise, it is much faster then my stock WX, with a very nice pull at the top of the redline. You know, the kind of turbo pull that was typical of the early turbos, increasing from 3000 rpm to 6500 rpm without any flatening.

And then, this monday, I saw another urQ just 5 minutes from my workplace; this time is was a newer (!!) 1984-up, with the wide R8s and the painted spoiler/decklid. Didn't met the owner, but it was clearly a daily driver, nice and clean but not detailed. This car was debadged, like the 1981, I guess because they don't want to scream "I am a genuine Quattro" to all the car stealers. Car theft is a real problem here...

So, since I told you all that I saw a charcoal French urQ in Bougival last month, I've seen 2 other silver urQs in less than 3 days... And, according to MArk Besso's pictures of the Ingolstadt 25 year celebration, the dark blue MTM-prepared Sport Quattro has a license plate ending in 78, which means the owner is living is this very same area as the other 3...

End of the French intelligence report. More to follow.

Louis-Alain,
This time, living on a boat, on the Seine river... in Paris.
Cool, if your not boat sick...
