[urq] Strut cartridge recommendations

I've run Bilstein Struts in my cars since 1984, these include sports and HD
on cars with coil over, sport and factory lounge car springs. I have never
has a Bilstein shock fail. I tried Koni yellows when I first put the coil
over in the 4kq and 3 of them were dead and leaking within a year. By
comparison the Bilstein sports have been in that car since 1998 and are
still working great. Now if only strut bearings would last so long.
I suspect you could kill any shock if it was too short for spring travel.
i.e. running sports with stock springs.
Just my experience,
Bruce

I gotta be honest guys, Im in this same predicament right now.
The Bilsteins on my blue car are shot and I HATE the thought of buying
another set of them. Bilsteins have always been a disappointment for me. I
had
them on my 90 Coupe Q as well and they never lasted, they were always
blowing out
one at a time so I was constantly changing them.
I will be persuing getting another set of SPAX, I installed them on my red
car but never really drove them but they should have fallen between the
bilsteins and the konis as far as ride and handling.
Im afraid to see what it would cost to get another set of them now though -
since the dollar aint worth squat anymore.
