[urq] Short shift kit.

Donnie,

I've installed 3 (1 urq, 2 5kcstq) of these shift kits. The vertical
location of the 'R' tab on the shift rod should not change when using this
shifter. As you seem to be suggesting, is it possible that the Billzcat
unit did not slide down the entire length of the shift rod? I applied some
Mobil 1 synth grease to the shift rod prior to putting mine together and had
no problems. Another thing to consider is that the tunnel out to the tranny
can sometimes block the linkage from engaging gears. You might want to
check and be sure the linkage isn't binding up inside the tunnel and
preventing the engagement of the R gear.

HTH,
Jim

I'm installing the billzcat1 shifter available at 034 and am looking for any
BTDT's on this. I've got the thing assembled and in the car but can't get
reverse to engage. The rod won't depress the lockout tab to engage reverse.
All other gears engage fine.

When I assembled the pieces the stainless body of the kit fit pretty tightly
to the stock shift rod, is this correct or should it freely slidealong the
shaft?

Thanks in advance, Donnie.
