its the cap for the overflow tank - as our rads don't have caps. So..you betcha same part for your car. I have a friend (granted this is many years ago on a Ford EXP) who had a leaking cap and it ended up causing an overheat and warped head.

But to answer your question - I'm using a Ron Davis Alum radiator http://www.rondavisradiators.com/Radiators.htm<http://www.rondavisradiators.com/Radiators.htm> and yes it will fit in your '85 just as it fits in my '84.

  I've also attached a pic

Guys - just a quick heads up - something to keep the banter up really -
while driving this weekend in 100F weather my coolant boiled over -
apparently my coolant overflow tank cap wore out. It was only a few
years old but could not keep a seal. I picked up a couple yesterday for
$4each and thought I'd throw this out there as its a cheap spare to keep
in the car that could prevent a costly repair in these hot summer
      months.

On a similar note-something I've found this summer - a great benefit to
having this mega cooling from the 200 20V in my car - on hot days in
traffic w/ the A/C on - the fan is on enough for the A/C system that my
water temps are significantly lower than when running w/ A/C off...I
found myself running with windows open and cool (not cold) a/c in my
face....and low water temps to boot!
