Agree with what Brandon says.  Also try un-plugging the O2 sensor once
it's warm and see what effect that might have.

Have you tried pulling the codes?
Check out SJM for procedure on blinking out the codes - or personally I
use ProDiag.
Have you tested for vacuum leaks?  That problem soe snot hit me as a vac
leakproblem but IMO its always a good place to start....

Recently purchased a 91 200TQ (110K miles) and plan transplanting the
motor 
to the Ur or my Vanagon...   Before that happens I'd like to begin
sorting it 
out a bit.   It runs just OK, it surges on acceleration sometimes, acts
like no 
boost others and always has a lumpy idle.   Also, it seems to run better
when 
it hasn't quite warmed up.   Any suggestions?
