1. I don't see how the bomb is going to change the pedal travel. The bomb only stores pressure used for the assist. The amount of brake fluid needed to move the caliper piston is solely based on the caliper piston size and how far it needs to travel to clamp the rotor. The pedal travel is based on the the master cylinder piston size. The volume it needs to displace will be the same as the volume increase in the caliper when the piston moves out. The assist pressure only "assists" your foot in depressing the pedal.
2. I upgraded to Porsche 4 piston calipers in the front and S4 calipers in the rear and didn't notice much change in pedal travel.
I also installed new stainless steel brake hoses at the same time. Old brake hoses can also give a soft feel if they expand at all.
3. IME a lot of pedal travel means bleed the brakes again.
