  you could use the later style coupe 1990-1991 20v  or urq 20v  control arms with the later style 20v coupe ball joints on the urq.  If I recall correctly the coupe 20v ball joints are 19 mm stud as opposed to the urq 18mm stud on the ball joint. Seeing as the urq and coupe 20v have the same bolt pattern on the control arms you could modify the urq struts by drilling or reaming out the 1mm required to make the coupe 20v ball joint work on the urq using the 20v control arms.

Are ball joints really that big a problem? Why can't we find a ball joint that fit's the strut correctly and modify the control arm? I'm sure I'm falling into "6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other" territory, but I have no problem modifying a set of control arm in order to buy "off the shelf" ball joints.
