Do you have ETKA? If yes, then you can do what I did, use the "ATP"
function, type the part number in and ETKA will take you to the page that
the part number appears on. On the older versions of ETKA, you have to
actually be in the catalog that the part applies to (e.g. you can't be in
the catalog for a V8, enter the number for a Sport Quattro fender and have
it take you there.) They fixed that in later versions of ETKA, but I don't
know exactly when. In this case it wouldn't really matter because the whole
list of parts would apply to the Sport/UrQuatto catalog.

It is PAINFULLY time consuming, but just a basic understanding of German
can get you through a few of them without have to look it up. "Motorblock",
for example, isn't all the difficult to grasp, but one would still have to
look it up to assertain fitment. Still, I think the list is 15 pages
printed out on 8.5x11 and I easily have 3 to 4 hours into it and I didn't
get through all the pages. Having a basic understanding of VAG's numbering
system makes a big difference too.

As for ordering, I didn't realize they were only available to members of a
certain group. I guess that translating that cover page wasn't a priority
for me. I ordered from VAGPARTS.COM, as they are in the UK, so
communication was easy, they take credit cards and they ship to the USA.
Although, I will say that they were almost 25% higher on thier price that
was was quoted on Audi "Fire Sale" list. It didn't really make that big of
a difference to me because I was ordering a $40 part, so I was willing to
pay the extra $10 for the abilty to order off "the list". I suppose they
are probably paying the price that is advertised and then making thier mark
up. Now, if you were ordering that Sport Quattro gear box, you may not like
the 25% hit. :-)

HTH!

Ben

... so ... how did you order a part from the list? AFAIK we have no
link to the organization ... if we could find a way to get parts ... is
there anyone who has a list that is a bit easier to decipher?

Steve B
... another Audi parts whore ...
