You're right - poor choice of words; "Foolproof"-no, but "Straightforward"-yes.

I stand by my assertion that a commercially available product should have a specific installation procedure such that a qualified technician following said procedure will have a leakproof seal the first time, every time, barring an abnormal manufacturing defect. My point is if you can do it with a fuel filter, you can do it with a fuel rail. Period. 

034 obviously agrees, as they redesigned the connection at the rail.
