This is Todd Ward 84 charcoal urq, haven't been able
to post for awhile but try and read the list once a
week. Just recently moved to KC from ST. Louis(all of
10 days) and I went and checked out Curtis's
car(couldn't resist}. Original paint Stone metallic
color not silver or gold, paint peeling from decklid
otherwise just dirty. Minor door dings and passenger
rocker obviously needs repaired but overall body is
not bad. Just really dusty a good wash and wax might
suprise you. The interior needs carpet and drivers
seat mended otherwise just a thorough cleaning. Engine
bay has typical rusted clamps and hangers, though
Curtis said alot of the hoses are new it also needs
cleaned up. The car has a nice stance with new struts
and 8x15's in good to very good shape with 225 yoko's.
It started right up with a nice quiet idle and no
hesitation when moving the accel cable back and forth.
He had a bad hose and couldn't boost it up so I babied
it around 2500 -2800 rpm. The clutch needs adjusted
only 1" of play before fully depressed, but no
noticeable slippage and it changed gears as well as
they can. Windshield needs replaced but with a little
TLC mostly cosmetic its still a good car. I really
liked the color, but 12 maybe a little high for 125k
thats not nearly perfect. Hope this helps anyone out,
he got the hose late yesterday, so if it doesn't sell
I might go back and boost her up, and from what I
could tell I don't think that would be a problem.
Curtis even called last nite asking if I wanted to
drive it again. He's a nice young guy who doesn't know
the differences in 84-85 cars are not that much. He
does know 85's are rare and he's got the only game in
town. Hope this helps Todd
