[urq] A/C - fan always on?

I should clarify - I'm curious if the _rad_ fan comes on continuously
once the A/C is switched on - or does it cycle on and off.

Guys-
I'm posting to both the Urq and 200 list on this question as my A/C
system is I guess a hybrid - Urq mehncanicals and 200 cooling fan.  So
my question:  when you turn on the a/c - does the fan run constantly
when you are driving around town?  Or does it cycle on and off?  And can
somebody confirm which fan speed comes on?
 
In my urquattro w/ 3B, I'm using the 200 20V rad fan and urquattro a/c
system, and a few days ago I turned on the a/c while the car was idling
in the driveway, expecting the fan to come on (not sure what speed - I
was thinking middle) and stay on but it only cycled on and off....
