[urq] CF Sport Type Hood Group Buy Update

Well, anyone interested in the Sport type replacement carbon fiber hoods 
for type 85 cars needs to sign up ASAP, or the group buy is dead and the 
existing deposits will be returned.  Yes, if it doesn't happen, your 50% 
down deposit will be returned.

There are currently deposits for 12 hoods, but we need to get orders 
ASAP for eight more to make it work.  The hoods are a direct replacement 
for ur quattros, 4k/q and CGTs and will be made by Fiber Images in CA.  
The price is $1250 + shipping.  The "group purchase" is being put 
together by Ed Kowbel of Automekanika in IL.  Once the initial group buy 
of 20 is done, the hoods will be availalbe only from Automekanika, not 
Fiber Images, at $1500.  Anyone who has purchased one of the cheaper 
fiberglass hoods from Germany will tell you that even $1500 is a good 
price for a hood that will not need extensive body work to be made 
right.  The hood pictured in the link took $2k in body work to get to 
the point where you see it in these pictures   These are pictures of the 
hood used for the molds.  No hood pins will be necessary in the 
production hoods as the stock mounts will be used.

The hoods were originally going to be done by another company, but they 
backed out after starting the molds.  As a result, four people backed 
out and got their deposits back.  We are trying to make this work, but 
need to find eight buyers ASAP to step up.  For more info, you can email
