[urq] Broken bleeder removal: tips ?

Wow, this list is so quiet, I must do something...

Anyone has succeeded in removing a broken bleeder in an aluminum caliper
? You know, these small bleeders are so thin-walled that both broke when
I tried to crack them. And the calipers are only 2 years old...

Should I heat them ?
Should I drill them and then rethread the hole to a bigger size ?
Should I try a bolt extractor ?
If I succeed, then what is the solution to prevent this from happening
again ?
