Louis-Alain,

That part number is 049 919 501B which is used on 4kq's and coupe GTs. 2
pin white sensor. You can either place it in the rear of the head like the
WX's (where it reads hotter) or up front like on the 4kq ( need to change
outlet). Remove the cold start warm up bulb (the blue warning). This is a
must, the bulb is attached to the same circuit. Install the gauge. The
BL/BRN wire runs the gauge. This should be hooked to the sensor that has
resistance to the engine block. The other pin that measures open (closes
at 120C) is connected to the BL/Y wire which runs the overheat light
flasher in the instrument cluster. If you place the sender in the back of
the head its plug and play.

Another safety indicator if you have the old style coolant recovery tank is
to get the level sensor from a 4000 or 5000 turbo diesel (Type 43). Cut
out the plastic on the threaded fitting on the tank and install the level
sensor. You hook one pin of this switch to the BL/Y wire and the other pin
goes to chassis ground so that a low coolant level will flash the coolant
warning light just like on the '85 and later cars.
