Steve,
You made excellent point with "someone who had some chance they would
actually read and consider a letter". For exactly that reason, and to
make sure Audi have to read the letter, I suggested a letter to
Ingolstadt direct (although it could be sent to any face and address one
can find). To make them read it I suggest that the banner text (there
should be several) should be printed in bold letters outside, on the
back of the envelope. That way everyone who sees the letter would know
what is for, and being sent to the top dog, would not be able to ignore
it. The reason I suggested a pro writer for the letter is because the
letter, and the envelope, should be designed by us (in Word format), and
made available for free download perhaps from this list and other fan
sites. That way, one doesn't have to do anything more than download,
print, sign and send. Now, the number of letters would be significantly
increased, since anyone concerned, not just the classic owners would be
able to participate, and Audi wouldn't be able to ignore our plea so easily.
What do you think folks?

I think I can do a reasonable job of expressing my disappointment with Audi ... especially when you see the commercials for an *SUV* where they intimate that it is the spiritual successor of the quattro turbo coupe. If I had an address of someone who had some chance they would actually read and consider a letter that I might send that would be sufficient for me.

Lately they have their commercials trying to do the same thing Audi is doing here with the Q7 ... showing that a couple lines of their SUV match the similar lines on sporty model ... OK, what I take away from those lines is that you're not going to have much visibility with that small of a greenhouse on something that big and that far away from the ground! :-) In the case of the Audi though, I'm always a sucker for watching the Rally cars back those 25 years ago ... it is truly a shame that Audi does not recognize what they are doing ...
