Don't idle it, just take it easy for the last few Km - it's air flow that it 
needs to cool it.

As for the pump, the only way that you can be certain that it isn't seized 
is to take it off the car and test it. I had one that _sounded_ as if it was 
working but when I checked it I fould that the impeller was locked solid 
even though the motor was spinning.
