... or you can cut holes for two standard gauges in the factory diff lock panel.  In my case I got a brand new piece from Audi (the advantage of having owned an urq since '86 :-), I kept the attachment stuff for the diff lock (that's also when I converted to the 3 position switch) and located the lock lights to be above the switch.  To add a third "gauge" I installed a Radio Shack 3-LED charging system tester underneath the lock switch.

One option for relocating the lock switch is to switch over to electrically controlled valves (either the '90 200q rear diff lock or the recirc valve actuator) ... that gives a lot more flexibility for relocation ... you could even go to an electric switch on the ring of the instrument cluster.  The lock switches go to ground so it is a pretty simple matter to go to LEDs if you want to ... if my car were not already set up the way it is I might actually do that today ... with the diff locks modified this way you could swap in the CGT gauge cluster ...

I know some folks have even mounted aux gauges in the cut out for the center vent ...
