In short yes, the white switch isn't used on cars with speaking 
computer, only low press one. Perfect for o/p gauge conversion which you 
mentioned, but you'll have to run separate wire for that purpose. If you 
are going to use CGT (and others) type sender, it comes with press. 
sender and the press. switch. Unfortunately, the press. switch is for 
high press (white switch value), so the low press that is connected now, 
should remain.
