[urq] Big(ger) brakes

Can anyone point me to a discussion of the possible options with
regards to upgrading brakes?  I will soon need to start from scratch,
so all options are considered.  Originality isn't a big deal, so I
don't need 15" wheels.  I've seen the TT calipers in the marketplace,
but are they worth the $450 the guy wants for them?  What's the deal
with the 993 calipers?  It looks like you can get a set through
advance for around $500, am I looking at the right thing?  What kind
of rotors and adaptors do you need?
