... been a while, but I think that I've used the hole between the body and
subframe that the left front propshaft goes through (long arms) ...
otherwise you can get at it from underneath. Remember that the shift
linkage attaches behind the front diff ... so look farther back on the
transaxle housing ... left side. The link rod attaches to the top of the
bellhousing, behind the clutch slave. The usual culprit for your symptoms
is part #33 in your drawing ... although I had a situation where the
attaching bolt item #34 worked itself loose. Other than that all you need
is to refresh the plastic bits #27 & #35 ... shouldn't need any other parts.
On the subject of the link rod #35 ... years ago I found the bushing parts
available separately ... lots cheaper than buying the whole rod. I don't
think I'll be able to dig up the P/N for that any more though ...
