True enough!  But If I were going to head that way, I'd think about finding a
steeper slope than the MAC 02. As you point out, all it can control is
timing. Not much fun in *that*, is there?  :-)

Yes, something odd going on there. Are you *sure* that you do have overboost
cutout, or has that perhaps been messed with?  (Hardwire the fuel pump relay,
or 'zener mod' in the ECU?)

In my case, it was quite easy! Somewhere in the urq's life before I got it,
someone had swapped in a MC motor, but had left it  still running the MAC02
ECU. The knock sensor was still in place on the block, with the wiring cut
off..! The decision to switch to MAC 11 was easy, as I had all the bits
needed to convert.
