today was legal tech check for my quattro and...it failed.
the main failure was the CO : 7.2 ! legal max value is 3.5, workshop manual
value 1.0 +/- 0.2
the other test failed was...non working stop light on one side ! darn, why
didn't I add these additional grounds ? what a bummer.
the guy told me that if it did not have the sky high CO, he would have
"forgot" to see that but the CO he can't fake it, all their system is
computer based. final "mandatory fix" fault was licence plate lights, they
are real dimmed, they just glow yellow.
ok, the lights are my fault, I knew about it and forgot to fix them.

not-to-be-fixed faults :
_ front geometry (drift)
_ shocks upper bearings on 3 corners (I did order them, waiting !)
_ underside body deformations (jack points)
_ multiple underside body corrosion
_ gearbox leak : this one pissed me up the most ! I rebuilt the box last
year and did the best to make it leakproof, I have to check this out.
I believe that this is not gearbox oil he saw but really ATF, I have not yet
rebuilt the hydraulics and it does leak.

datas :
weights : front 800kg, rear 541
brakes (DaN) : FL 268, FR 280, RL 164, RR 171
handbrake : R 180 L 201
suspension : FR 92 FL 90 RR 67 RL 66
front drift (m/km) : 14

the thing that worried me the most actually is the steering, it makes a
bubbling sound when turning the wheel at low speed
it started only on one side, now it starts to make the sound on both sides,
at higher speed and I feel the wheel gets harder
so I guess after the suspensions, the next big job will be the hydraulics.

at this rate, I believe that in about 15 years, I will have a perfect
quattro. just have to keep on.
