[urq] Mine will not read full : anyone have a fuel guage?

A while back I had my instrument cluster out and cleaned all the
contacts at that time. Well the next time I filled up the gauge went
_all_the_way_ to the top - first time ever since I bought the car - many
years back. That lasted a coupel fill ups - now its back to business as
usual (_maybe_ it reads slightly higher than before)- but most important
- It_is_accurate_when_it_gets_to_the__bottom__of_the_tank_.

BTW  Prior owner put in a seperate boost gauge and put
a temp gauge  in.   The full gauge reads 3/4 when I
fill tank.  I think I once read this might happen if
the regular 4k/cgt gas/temp gauges are used.  True? 
Can I trust that temp gauge as it might also be from a
urq cousin vehicle?
