I'll have to get a photo of the tie rods and the dents in the car body that the tie rods made. Since I don't know the cars history - it's possible the dents occurred when a PO was experimenting or maybe he had the wrong tie rods in for a while.

The correct one is the one on top.
I guess someone fitted the later style (around 100$ at FLAPS) because
the older style is $$$ (425$ at the dealer...).
Now you know why I spent so much time trying to find a suitable
replacement last spring...
