Somewhere between cramming steel wool into one of the tail pipes and
actually bolting something into/onto the exhaust, there must be a clever and easily
reversible trick I can employ...preferably without having to get under the
car...
Any great ideas out there?
TIA,
Jon
Hi Jon,
Haven't really followed this thread much, so don't know if this has been
suggested.... but here is an old Harley chopper trick...
Take two steel bottle covers that are a smaller diameter than the twin pipes
to make temporary baffles.... drill a number of holes through the tops of
the covers... and then drill three pilot holes in the sides of the cover (the
side being the part that would normally screw onto the bottle) .... drill
slightly bigger holes to match in your twin pipes... use self tapping screws
through the exhaust pipes into the holes in the cover/baffle.....
We used to use baby food cans in the Harley, worked great !!! but they
rattled like hell when we were going to the inspection station.
Just my 2 cents worth....
