Not sure if it is the root cause yet, but pulled the "new" Bilstiens and
the bottom shaft is measurably smaller in Diameter than the stock Boge and
can certainly make a good case for the strut moving under load. many have
commented on the intense tightened pressures needed on the collar to keep
these seated. I am a bit surprised that they are not better mated size
wise for the application. Will reinstall stock size and recheck for clunk.
