[urq] Poor idle and running rich

OK, I'm guessing it's a vacuum  leak, but here's the cause/symptoms. My early 
build 83 has been running on the  hot side for the past year. (What tipped me 
off was when the separate 30 amp  fuse I installed for the radiator fan 
melted because the fan was running so  much.) I didn't think it was the thermostat 
because I replaced it less than  three years old. But when everything else 
checked out to be fine I replaced  it (thermostat) and voila! It's back to its 
normal operating temp. It might be a  coincidence, but right after I changed the 
thermostat, the car now idles so low  that it stall's until it's up to the 
normal operating temp, and even then, I had  to open the idle screw quite a bit 
so that it wouldn't stall. Now it's running  so rich that the exhaust smells 
like fuel and smokes! (reminds me of the exhaust  smell of my 1960 VW bug) 
Another thing that I've noticed is that I can hear what  sounds like a slight 
vacuum leak inside the car when over 1000 rpm. I've checked  the lines behind the 
dash and to the ECU but they appear fine. It almost sounds  like that vacuum 
sound you hear when the AC kicks in. Any  ideas?
