Hi Tony,
I recommend ...
Do >not< use a car cover for any extended length of time, like over the
winter.  I did this and it ended up damaging the paint.  The damage is
mostly where the seams of the cover rubbed the paint.  I suppose dirt worked
it's way thru the cover and acted as an abrasive.  The thread used to stitch
the seams may also have been at fault. I believe whatever damage would have
occured from no cover would have been less than what the cover caused.

Just my 2 cents worth.
